It takes guts to seek counseling. It takes strength to make the decision and then
courage to make that first call. And yet, that first step may be the hardest part!

Avoidance only keeps us stuck. Partnering with
a competent therapist can make all the difference.

I have been providing psychotherapy for over 31 years. Earlier in my career, after obtaining my Masters Degree in Counseling Education, I worked within Family and Community Mental Health Agencies providing services to clientele who struggled with a wide range of psychological and behavioral health concerns. This experience included providing clinical supervision to other psychotherapists as well as managing an Outpatient Counseling department.

In 2004, after several years of focusing upon more cognitively and behaviorally based techniques, I began the process of widening my therapeutic skill-set to include more body oriented, experiential and creative methodologies. Over a three year period I immersed myself in an extensive Voice Movement Therapy Training and was registered with the International Association for Voice Movement Therapy in 2007. I also served as President of this organization between 2012 and 2014.

Over the years, I have worked in a variety of settings including: Outpatient Psychotherapy Centers, Intensive Outpatient Drug and Alcohol Treatment Programs; School Based Programs; Guidance Departments; Cancer Treatment Centers; A Partial Care Program; A boys Home and in Private Practice.

I am Licensed by the States of North Carolina and New Jersey as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC); Certified Nationally as a Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CCMHC); Certified Internationally as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) and Registered Internationally as a Voice Movement Therapy Practitioner (VMT-R).
